Our verdict
Status
An initial £18m funding package aimed at reducing drug deaths was announced in March 2021, before the election. The Scottish Government announced that £1.61m of this had been distributed to various community projects in July 2021. While the figures involved fall far short of the specified five-year total of £250m, this represents a clear first step towards fulfilment.
