Our verdict
Status
This promise is in progress. The previous race equality action plan ran from 2017 to 2021 and a final report was issued in March 2021. A new plan called the “Race equality: immediate priorities plan”, running until 2023, was published in September 2021. This plan is intended to bridge the gap to the publication of a delivery-focused programme covering 2023-2026. The intermediate plan was developed in collaboration with the Expert Reference Group on COVID-19 and Ethnicity but there is no suggestion it was subject to wider consultation with ethnic minority stakeholders.

Other pledges
