Convene countries to discuss wellbeing around COP26

Last updated 3 years ago

...we will bring countries together around COP26 to discuss how focusing on the wellbeing of a country can help meet net zero...

SNP Manifesto 2021, p.139

Our verdict

Background

The Scottish Government is a founding member of the Wellbeing Economy Governments partnership (WEGo), a group of countries committed to collaborating in progress on creating “wellbeing economies”, societies which view economic growth as a means to an end rather than the end in itself.

Status

There is no evidence that the Scottish Government convened countries – members of the WEGo partnership or not – at or around the time of COP26 to discuss how wellbeing economy goals can facilitate progress to net zero carbon emissions.
