Our verdict
Status
This promise has been fulfilled. The R100 voucher scheme was announced and launched prior to the 2021 election, in August 2020. In addition to the main £5,000 voucher scheme, a £400 “interim” voucher was made available for premises where the rollout of superfast broadband infrastructure is/was planned in the medium term. Initially scheduled to close at the end of 2021, the interim scheme was extended by three months. The main scheme will remain open indefinitely.

Other pledges
The voucher scheme is part of the “Reaching 100%” superfast broadband coverage policy. Other related SNP promises include the completion of the superfast rollout in the South and Central regions by 2023 and the North region by 2026.
